Soaring High

{{stretchingmyarmsoutshouting}}

It’s a New Day.

After purging, unplugging, and ridding my life of things no longer needed, I am beginning to settle into my Winter Hibernation stage. And I can’t help but feel “privileged”...

And “special”...

LIBERATED

I hold on tight, at this time, to the roots of existence that have helped to shape me become who I am today.

Those roots that I’ve mentioned from time to time, run deep;
and they have some amazing qualities.

here’s an「 insert 」
from an earlier blog post about them:

“ My Roots are deep but they have been damaged.

With my artistic endeavors of healing I try to share overlapping similarities, found along the journey of life, that can repair anything!

Like that witnessed during the spontaneous, re-combining nature of the roots of my dread-locked hair!!

I call such things :: THE ARTs OF THE SCEINCEs OF LIFE

and they form the FOUNDATION from which Family Building Essentials start. . .

With the Art of Life in its entirety all combined into it.”

This Foundation has been developed into a Family Business; that I and my Family are Building.

end 「 insert 」here.

As I mentioned earlier my roots have some amazing strengths;

but when under stress, damaged, or in some way compromised, to heal them, I recombine them to reconstruct them.

Creating a change that strengthens and improves them;

sometimes, though, I might have to eliminate an outside element. Because as we know, physical as well as mental shocks can be traumatizing and they too can have unwanted effects;

...hence, the reason for my use of the term “purging”.

Gotta’ get rid of all forms of stress and trauma.

Through the use of reconstructive forms of Healing.

I did some recent “reconstructing” and “purging” to the roots of my hair again;

At first by cutting and trimming edges and damaged ends off.

Only to then find new ways to recombine them, reconstructing them, once again.

This will strengthen and increase each individual loc. Once their roots “lock”, by joining together, they’ll create a stronger bond leading to a new foundation.

One that is united and stronger than all previous ones.

It is possible to do this with everything though. . .

Not just with hair.

Like I said, I love looking for similarities in life’s mysteries found in nature and our biology.

When we combine, and share our roots, we build a newer and stronger foundation for humanity;

One stronger than has ever been seen before because we today are it’s creators.

Creators of the future, who are no longer living in the past. . .

but instead are mindful with pure awareness of how to build things up while eliminating and breaking down that which is unwanted.

When we replicate patterns shown to us in the nature of all living things and their symbiotic systems, we work together, in Harmony.

Now this work must be done with diligence in order to proceed, resulting in a build up beginning.

Whether they be locs of hair or something else, they will become more resilient as needed, when under stress.

I consider the process described here, of recombining to reconstruct, as a quality of an ability
that most of us African Americans have always had to learn to acquire during our lifetimes.

Something that is very similar to what is seen in nature and referred to as “self-preservation”...

the process is actually

“that which makes life keep on happening. . .”

Spiritually, it is sometimes described as being
“Godly” or as “life giving”.

...You see,

in life if damage occurs because things get too heavy, when ignored the damage can result into stress.
If the stressors are not removed, there can be all sorts of problems.

Like the breakage of damaged hair or a serious illnesses that can ultimately lead to death.

Data from studies often show African Americans as having some sort of physical weakness that is specific to just us Black folk.

What this truly reveals is that our environment, and our experiences, both have long term biological effects on us as a population that has been contained within certain conditions. These conditions often dictate our lives due to inequalities that exist in the US that are often accepted as “normal”.
As simply a part of western society when referring to us collectively as Black People.

Knowing this should result in a re-figuring in our thinking. . .

and a change in the way that we look at Data in research.

To quite simply stop placing the blame on the victims of a horrific beginning to our Country’s existence.

A recombining of our knowledge - to-prove- what’s-real-and-what’s-not.

But so far, we are not so lucky. . .

. . .we are still seen as having a high infant mortality rate and are often considered to have predispositions for all sorts of physical ailments.
As if we are inferior biologically instead of being controlled with certain social conditions.

I have found and am currently researching further through my studies how the re-combining of matter results in repair not only as seen with things like hair, but it is also witnessed in invigorating the life force amongst black people in African American communities.

We must invest in the cultivation of a healthy mind set, though;
one that leads us to become both more mentally and physically fit.
In the event that new stressors threaten to lead to damage, we will be better prepared to confront them with a bit more “vim and vigor” from our strengthened efforts.
Similar to the strength seen in the locking of hair; making things stronger and healthier in both situations.
Regaining the great strength that we have available to us due to our strong roots. . .

As Humans.

My free-form-dreadlocks were getting longer and heavier.
So like I said earlier, I am doing some “re-combining” to strengthen them.

The weight became too much for my roots to bare alone.

Adding one, or two locs, to another involved some of that “magical sacred geometry”.
This eventually builds up the foundation that they are dependent on - - -

Thus, I am making them stronger.
They will become capable of handling a bit more extra weight that is acquired from new growth.

Lately,
the “re-combining” that I’ve begun on myself mentally, during my current purge, has to do with the removal of the heavy images that I have been witnessing lately.

And as a Black Woman growing up in a Western, Industrial Society, everyone knows that things are often viewed as “hard and heavy”.

So at this time I too need a stronger foundation to call upon.
